Why 'vertical farming' is not a fix for our food system

In the old days, the environment could much more easily give good healthy food to humanity and our animal friends.

Today as this post tries to discuss, there are many who are trying to grab a few more percentages. I believe this shows we have already lost.

Its the same reason there is a housing crisis, because the system is stressed to the limits, and the rules of the game, which we cannot change but simply ride out are broken.

Traffic, cars & transport are another example where more roads & tunnels or trains or some other moving vehicle system never win because we have hit a limit. Moving lots of people many many kilometers across town and all that is broken. Its a fundamental waste of time.

We are farming record amounts of food, and yet farmers are going broke, because the more you grow the less you get paid. I will skip all the other food supply problems and consequences.

May not be a solution to fix our food supply in totality to produce everything under sun but it is certainly needed. It is the best solution for veggies that are consumed in raw as it prevents contamination. Salad greens, tomatoes, cucumber, lettuce, basil, peppers, etc.. Not everything. The hot house grown stuff don't carry e-colie, salmonella, listeria and some new ones, shigella, b-cereus, parasites, hepatitis, etc.
