Teenage Engineering Is Going to Stop Making Synths

I wanted to hate Teenage Engineering as a traditional synth and groovebox/sampler nerd but after playing with an OP-1 Field and a few pocket operators, I understood why they were so successful. Beyond just the aesthetic and marketing the OP-1 Field especially was just _fun_ to play with. I was at first put off by the lack of standard tools and controls but when I first tried one it felt like getting a Nintendo as a kid and hours just passed me by while I was locked in fooling around. I never ended up buying one because it was (for me) too expensive, but the one I had on loan for awhile got me pretty close. They definitely had some misses like the wooden doll "choir". But maybe I'll see if I can find a used OP-1 Field now before everyone gets this news and the prices increase.

Neither Linux nor Android are artificially limited to 4-track recording. Faux pas?
