This should be flagged as an ad (Aren't you the founder?)

Didn’t we already do this with the outsourcing debacle 15 years ago?

Salaries are obscenely expensive, and outside of San Fran's in-person 9-9-6 hustle culture its a massive battle to keep staff here coming into the office.

I've decided to just embrace hiring remotely, but doing it overseas in LATAM, South Africa, India etc.

Salaries are maybe 1/3 of the cost, as their living costs are a fraction. Quality variance is worse yes but you can easily use platforms like hotsourced to find very good people now.

Its been a complete game changer for us. We can afford amazing people that we pay way more than their local market rate, and we even have a couple extra staff members so people can finish at a reasonable time. And we're still saving $200k a year, across 10 staff members.

Feel like we're at a pivotal moment now, where almost every business is incentivised to do this. Not sure what roles will remain here? Where does this go?

US added 260,000 tech jobs in April 2026, the latest month for which we have data. Total jobs are increasing at a rate of about 10% per year.

No idea what's happening in the UK, their data portals are awful. If you want to know specific names of companies, look at their job portals. My own company hired developers in the US this year.
