So many problems here, but the most egregious is NYT’s “uncertain tax positions” in its 10-K is only $4M, while Meta claims >$18B. And the NYT article wasn’t critical of using the R&D tax credit altogether, but Meta’s unusual tactic of claiming billions in data-center costs should qualify for the credit.
